VI*VA is a latin inspired handcrafted up-cycled bag line. We used up-cycled fabrics, leather, natural fibers and metal hardware that was created by Adrian Villanueva and myself. The brand name has a double meaning as we incorporated the first two letters of both our last names. Villanueva and Vasquez. Adrian being from Argentina and my parents from El Salvador we infused the brand with our latin heritage. "Viva" in the Spanish language means to "Live" and is also used as a phrase to give a rally or cheer on.

Adrian was a craftsmen with the sewing machine and was taught by his uncle. I used my design skills and creative eye to assemble the materials into useable pieces.
We used uncommon materials as coffee bean sacks and incorporated the graphics into bag designs. We also used scrapped leather and other odd ended fabrics that would normally be thrown out after a pattern is cut.

Fanny pack concept:

We designed a pattern from using these as reference. We searched online to find unique designs we thought we could create and improve on.
